

Fascinating Salt Prints
One of our new members, Neil Ferguson, gave a superb presentation and demonstration of how to produce a salt print from an old glass slide, using Montrose harbour water. Neil also showed us some of the beautiful images he has created using vaious methods he has worked on over many years.


Annual Image Competition Round 2 Winners
Steve Whittaker was welcomed back to Brechin to deliver his comments and the results for both divisions in Round 2 of the Annual Image Competition. This was the first print competition of the session and it was very interesting to see so many high quality images. Steve's thoughtful and constructive analysis of every print was appreciated by members. Congratulations to everyone who submitted mounted prints for Steve to consider, several for the first time. Sled Dogs
The Sled Dog Association of Scotland had a weekend of races at Brechin Castle Show Ground and were happy for us to go along and take pictures of dogs and people having a terrific time. You can see some of the results below. It was great fun and another chance to test and polish our photographic skills.


Autumn Colours at the North Esk
Early in October a bunch of BPS members got together at Glen Esk Caravan Park to spend a beautiful, breezy morning taking photographs of fungus, the rushing river and developing autumn colours. Below are images of members focussed on getting 'that' shot.


Annual Image Competition Round 1 Winners
Chris Bell from Deeside has judged for BPS several times before and we were pleased to welcome him back, in person to Brechin. As before he gave his very carefully considered comments and emphasised the fact that these were his opinions and hoped we'd focus less on the marks and more on his words of advice about how our photographs could be improved.
