Knockout Results and Print of the Year
Last night was a lighthearted return to the club for 2018, with our annual knockout competition, where the audience becomes judge for the night. A great mix of quality photos and some really funny ones too.
Despite the good humour and tactical voting, the competition usually ends up with a merited winner, and this year was no exception. James Anderson's 'Feed Me' narrowly took top spot from Mark Hughes' 'Tight Line'. In an almost as exciting playoff, Jock Elliott's 'Dunnottar Castle' sneaked third place from Bill Powrie's 'Glasgow City Chambers'
Winner - Feed Me by James Anderson
Runner Up - Tight Line by Mark Hughes
3rd Place - Dunnottar Castle by Jock Elliott
4th Place - Glasgow City Chambers b y Bill Powrie
The unlucky quarter-finalists are also shown below. Dennis Forman's 'We Need to Talk' certainly got the biggest laugh of the night, Iain McLachlan's 'Frog Reflection, 'Ewe Lookin' at Me?' by Jennifer Moffat and 'Boat Wreck' by Kevin Thomson.
Thanks to everyone for the images, and for joining in last night.
Next week it is back to business, with guest judge Bob Humphreys from Alford coming to judge the final and deciding round of the Annual Image Competition, for which to topic was 'The Journey'. Bob is usually good entertainment, so it should be a good evening.
See you on Tuesday!
NB - Next Tuesday is also the submission deadline for Colour and Mono Print of the Year. Some entries have already come in, and there is an excellent standard already. Great to see people clearly enjoying their photography and producing better and better images.
