John Senior Trophy Success

We are delighted to report that last night Brechin Photographic Society again won the John Senior Trophy - by a whopping 13 points! The runners up were Mearns and Kirriemuir.

The benefits of being president - I get to claim some success!

In the Angus Cup, we were looking good until a strong finish from Mearns meant we finished, for the second year in a row, in second place. Congratulations to Mearns CC for their victory.

Particular congratulations are due to Ian Hastie, who was awarded the best PDI of the evening for Bow Fiddle Rock, and a 20/20 score.

Medicine Man by Anne May was awarded the second best print of the evening too, and 19/20.

Jim Carr's Blue Tit, Hayley's Lisianthus and my Black Darter and Common Blue Pair images were all awarded joint 3rd best in the relevant competitions, and all received 18/20.

Congratulations to the above authors, and to everyone who was involved in the competition. The 14 images will now form the bulk of our entry to the Scottish Photographic Federation Annual Portfolios. I may come looking for a couple of additional images from members, some members are committed to other clubs for national competitions.

We have now won the John Senior Trophy for three consecutive seasons, and I think this is a clear indication of the high standard of work being produced by you all. The selection process each year gets tougher and tougher, so even if your images weren't selected, it was a club effort and everyone deserves a pat on the back.
