SPF Portfolio 2024 Success
The Scottish Photographic Federation Portfolio 2024 results were announced in August and Brechin Photographic Society had a magnificent result in the Monochrome Club section coming first equal with Paisley PS and being awarded The Salon Trophy. This is the first time the club has achieved a winning position in this club competition. We usually do well, especially for a small club, but this year is a surprisingly splendid result.
In the Digital section we came a very creditable 8th equal but, at the other end of the judging results, our Colour Prints only managed joint 27th, right at the bottom and extremely disappointing. Three judges each give points from three to five which added together give a score out of fifteen for each image and our colour prints clearly didn't appeal to these judges.
We'll focus on and celebrate the successes for now.
Several members did particularly well in gaining acceptances, that is, being awarded 13, 14 or 15 points for an image. Chamila Brieske deserves special congratulations for three acceptances. James Anderson, Sally Mack and Anne May also gained acceptances. All are shown below.
'Fox in the Snow' by Chamila Brieske, Colour Print.
'Leopard in Botswana' by Chamila Brieske, Monochrome Print.
''Copper-rump Hummingbird Feeding' by Chamila Brieske, Digital Image.
'Hello Folks' by James Anderson, Digital Image.
'Geometry' by Sally Mack, Digital Image.
'Contemplation' by Anne May, Monochrome Print. This image was also awarded an SPF Silver Medal for the Best Portrait Print.
