Harvest Mice - something different to spend your Christmas money on?

Gillian Temple, CPAGB, has contacted us to advertise her harvest mice photography workshop. It certainly offers something different from they normal wildlife photography workshops, and we thought some people might be interested in checking it out. She is based in Kelty in Fife, so not too far to go for many of our members. She has sent the following information, but please do not hesitate to contact her directly if you are interested but would like more information.

Harvest Mice Photography Workshop

Thank you for enquiring about the Harvest Mice Photography Workshops.

They are suitable for all level of photographers from the beginner to the seasoned pro. Beginners will also have the opportunity to have help and guidance if needed.

Workshops are held at my home in Kelty, Fife. So you are in a warm, comfortable and relaxed location, with tea, coffee and toilet facilities, all ensuring that you have an enjoyable experience photographing these beautiful tiny acrobatic mammals.

Gear you will need – your camera and kit lens, and a macro lens if you have one, I mainly use my macro lens but also use my 24-105mm too. There will be constant lighting available so no flash required and as the mice are on the move all the time a tripod is also not needed.

However you will require an extra battery and additional memory cards as photographing these delightful little mammals is addictive and you will take lots of shots. Battery charging can be done but you will need to supply your own charger to do this.

Places are restricted to 2 people per session, this ensures you get the shots with no obstructions or other photographers in the way. The sessions are run for 2 hours both morning and afternoon by arrangement and have to be kept to these times for the wellbeing of the mice. Weekdays and weekends can both be booked depending on availability.

Morning sessions: 10.00am – 12.00pm

Afternoon sessions: 1.30pm – 3.30pm

I recommend that you arrive 10-15mins prior to the session start time to allow for time to get set up and have a coffee/tea if you would like one.

A £20 non refundable deposit is requested on booking and the remaining £40 paid on the day of the workshop. Further info available on how to pay at time of booking.

Directions – From M90 take Junction 4 turn down towards Kelty and I am in the first bungalow on the right (next door to ALM Motors) parking is available in my garden.
