Angus Cup and John Senior Trophy 2024
Carnoustie Photo Group hosted this year's inter-club competition at Tealing Hall. A good sized group of Brechin Photographic Society members travelled to Inveraldie to watch the competition results in person while some others were able to view them online via Zoom. Carnoustie Photo Group were excellent hosts and Al Buntin ARPS MPAGB from Monifieth was the judge.
Mearns Camera Club won both the Angus Cup for digital images and the John Senior Trophy for prints with Brechin taking second place in both competitions and Kirriemuir Photography Club third in both, just beating Carnoustie into fourth place. As usual it was an exciting evening and the judge's comments stimulated lots of conversation on the way home.
Manuel Brieske's image 'Arbroath Paddling Pool' was our highest scoring of the evening and gained the second highest score in the Angus Cup.
Two other digital images that did well in the Angus Cup were -
'Common Blue' by Ben Freeman
and 'Hello Folks' by James Anderson.
'Winter's Evening at Fasque' by Norman Mackenzie scored the best points for us in the John Senior Trophy.
